What's On All Our Minds - More Props

This week I'm taking a break from reviewing merchandise to show off some props I've been building from Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

I actually did a video where I was starting work on these riddles almost 12 months ago but it's taken me much longer than expected to get started and work out all the kinks.

As frustrating as it sometimes is, I've got to say they are really fun to have when you're finished. They look great on the shelf alongside all my figures.

I've got to say a lot of this has been made possible by auction sites like Propstore offering high res photos.

My thanks also goes out to Ramses Rios who kindly built and posted me a working Nygmatech box receiver all the way from Texas.

Be sure to check his work out on instagram @koolpropstudio

Or visit his etsy store here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/KoolPropStudio

Or his website here: https://www.theartoframses.com/

Oh and in case you were wondering, yes Propstore did recently put the Chess Riddle up for auction so there are more accurate photos now available here.

Prop showcase: Land Lease for Claw Island

It's been so fun these last few years finally being able to see the props they made for Batman Forever up close and inspect all the hidden details that the prop makers put into stuff that would never even be seen on screen.

This Land Lease document recently popped up on PropStore.

Fascinated by the knowledge that Nygma was renting Claw Island off someone called Baron Helmutt Von Claw with a 30 year lease at a cost of $95,000 per month (for the first month) followed by $180,000 for ever month thereafter.

Poor Baron Von Claw - I wonder who he was and what happened when Nygma went to jail. Did he have to take the Island back? What did he do with the giant structure? Did they ever get the Throne Room to descend or is it stuck sticking up in the air?

You know what I would do with it? Convert it into a Theme Park.

Batman Forever Merchandise Review - Bat-Signal Blaster toy from Kenner

As you can tell from this video, I'm a little more excited about the box artwork than I am for the actual toy.

And apologies, I got a little carried away when I said Batman "doesn't have a gadget like this in the film" - it's obviously based on the grapnel gun he uses in the opening bank heist to winch the vault back into place.

I was too old to get any of this branded dress up stuff at the time. I was 11 when the film came out. It's kind of nice to go back and pick it up now. I was very surprised that the thing is built more for a full size adult hand than it is a kids.

What's On All Our Minds? Props

Bit of a different type of video this week. I've been bitten by the replica prop making bug so I'm looking to start putting together some more.

Batman Forever had such a great collection of imaginative and elaborate props. I don't know which direction to go.

I want some challenging stuff as well as some easy ones. I want the really iconic stuff as well as the super niche stuff. Any suggestions for what to make, let me know.

Here are all the links that I put up in the video:-

The mini Nygmatech box is available from: https://www.theartoframses.com/ and Ramses' instagram link is: https://www.instagram.com/koolpropstudio/

Links to my elements to make Riddle 1 is here: https://archive.org/details/if-you-look-3 and Riddle 2 is here: https://archive.org/details/tear-one-off

Link to magazine prop photos if you want to print them off are here: https://archive.org/details/mag-architectural-diary

I'll hopefully be doing some more of these types of videos where I just talk about stuff rather than constantly showing off toys and figures so let me know if there's a topic you want me to discuss.

Miscellaneous content: Props

A bit of an odds and ends post today. These are a few random pictures of props, costumes and make-up that I couldn't fit into any other posts.

Miscellaneous content: Bruce Wayne magazine

Can't quite remember how I found this but here's one of the fake magazines from Edward Nygma's work cubicle.

External Link: Prop newspapers from Batman Forever for sale

Fancy owning some bone fide props from Batman Forever? Check out these two newspapers that are available at Propstore.

Note the advert for Gotham Closets at the bottom of the second one. That's got to be a joke, right?
