Batman Forever Merchandise Review - White Suit Riddler figure from Funko Pop

Pleased to say that the 85th Anniversary of the Batman character has meant that Funko have released some new Schumacher movie figures. We've got a white suit Riddler and a cloaked Poison Ivy.

Very surprised they've made these considering they are new sculpts. The last Batman Forever figures they released were some cheaply made, hydro-dipped versions of the original Riddler and Two-Face.

As usual Funko have done a good job at capturing the details. The cane has the little skull on the end, the suit is shiny, the hair is pinky and flipped up. Love it but surely we need a Chris O'Donnell figure. Maybe that will come next year for the 85th Anniversary of the Robin character???

Batman Forever Merchandise Review - Two Face vinyl figure from Funko Pop

Now we look at Funko's Two Face figure - another big win for the pop culture toy maker. The costume and make-up are nicely captured and it's tough to find any sort of fault with it. I'd really recommend getting this and the Batman and Riddler figure if you're a fan of Batman Forever. I hope this isn't the last Batman Forever figure they are going to make. Come on, a Chris O'Donnell Robin figure is needed to finish the set.

Batman Forever Merchandise Review - Riddler vinyl figure from Funko Pop

This week I'm finally getting around to reviewing Funko's excellent Riddler figure that was released earlier in 2020. This was part of a range of Burton and Schumacher Bat movie villains that included Joker in his traditional suit, Joker dressed in artist attire, Penguin, Catwoman, Two Face, Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy.

This is a really great figure which nicely captures Jim Carrey's likeness. I can't fault it and any self respecting Batman Forever fan should get one for their collection (along with the Forever Batman and Two Face.

I'll be reviewing the Two Face figure in a fortnight.

Oh, and Merry Christmas!

Batman Forever Merchandise Review - Pop Heroes Batman 1997 figure from Funko

I know this isn't technically Batman Forever but I couldn’t resist buying it when I saw it in the shops today and recording this review.

It’s a Funko Pop of the George Clooney Ice Armour figure from Batman & Robin (which looks a lot like the Sonar Suit from Batman Forever). Once again, it's a neat little figure that's worth picking up if you have even the slightest affection for the film.

By the way, if anyone is interested in seriously starting a www.1997batman.com and covering the second Joel Schumacher film you have my blessing!

I'll be back to Batman Forever stuff next week.

News: More Funko Pop Batman villains on the way including Two-Face and the Riddler

It was revealed at the London Toy Fair yesterday that Funko are going to be doing more Pop figures of characters from the Batman movies.

Specifically they'll be releasing two Jokers, Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler, Two Face, Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy - all modeled on their looks from the Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher movies.

Of course, this being 1995batman.com - I'm most excited about getting the Riddler and Two-Face figures. At the moment, they've only released concept art of what they'll look like but they all look rather fantastic.

I might have to consider getting the Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy too. Little angry Mr Freeze in particular looks very cute.

My only question is - when do we get a Chris O'Donnell Robin for Batman Forever and Batman & Robin? And let's not forget Bane, Dr Chase Meridian and Batgirl, hell maybe even a Michael Gough Alfred?

Anyway, here's the pics. The figures will be released in April/May 2020. I imagine there will be a slight delay before I get to see them on toy shelves in the UK - expect a review sometime in June.

News: Funko POP are releasing a figure of George Clooney's Batman!

No this is not an April Fool's Joke. Funko really are going to be releasing a George Clooney Batman figure from the much maligned Batman Forever follow-up Batman & Robin.

I've got to say it actually looks pretty great in toy form. I imagine a Batman Forever Sonar Suit can't be far behind because it's a pretty similar design/mould.

I've sorted of avoided talking about the infamous 1997 movie for a long time. And... well... there's a reason that this website is called 1995Batman.com.

I don't really have a great hatred of Batman & Robin (like so much of the internet does) but I don't really have a great love for it either. I'm sure at some point I'll put down my complicated feelings about the movie. The short version is I think it's a rushed, lazy movie that tries and fails to copy all the beats of Batman Forever without getting the recipe right.

Anyway, I'll probably be picking this up and will do a review regardless.

Batman Forever Merchandise Review - Funko Pop Batman Forever Vinyl Figure

I was tempted to save this for later in the year but I just picked this up from the shop today and shot the review this afternoon.

Here's my review for Funko Pop Heroes Batman Forever figure (no 289) that has been released in conjunction with the 80 Years of Batman celebration.
